- The vehicle failed the SMOG inspection at this time. The vehicle has according to the underhood label: HO2S, AFS, SFI, TWC+ADS-TWC(2). The engine test group is: 5NSXV01.883A and has California emissions. The vehicle has an aftermarket catalyst installed on the front. The catalyst is as follows: D-193-124 / 452806 / 02/20 The catalyst is ILLEGAL for the vehicle and is considered a TAMPER at this time. Confirmed on the Air Resource Board website and on the executive order pages 25-26 the engine test group is not for this catalyst assembly.
- The vehicle is out of fuel. Gained authorization from the customer to install $20 of fuel into the vehicle and drive the vehicle to attempt to set the catalyst monitor. Drove the vehicle 5 miles after refuel and the catalyst monitor has been set. Before test drive a pending code is in system. Receiving pending code: P1138 Swirl Control Valve Signal Out Of Range. Currently not active code. Code is dealing with the intake manifold and programming. Found TSB: NTB09-144A. If code becomes active recommend diagnostics. For vehicle to pass the SMOG inspection at this time, recommend factory catalyst. No after market catalyst available at this time.
