    • Removed Thermostat and bench tested found that Thermostat is opening at 185 F degrees and not defective. Warranty of thermostat and installed new one. With further diagnostic checks found that engine is still getting hot and over-heating. Cause is that over 54/hc in cooling system head gasket and also leaking water pump are at fault and causing to munch air to be in cooling system not allowing thermostat to open. Will need to replace head gaskets to solve over-heating problem. Continued operation of vehicle while overheating will cause headgasket to fail.
    • Upon arrival to vehicle the check engine light is not illuminated on the dash panel. Scanned vehicle. Received codes: P0117, C0057, P0100, C0231, 12. All monitors are set. Inspected freeze frame data. Code set at 60mph @2629rpms after driving 98 minutes, the coolant temperature reached 246 degrees. Performed bi-directional testing on the cooling fans. Cooling fans are operating properly at this time. Started vehicle and performed warm-up testing. The thermostat has not opened up by the time the temperature of 210 degrees and fans activated. This shows the thermostat is closed and requires investigation.
