    • Confirmed customer concern. Vehicle has been driven 840 miles since last visit. Scanned vehicle Received code: P0441 EVAP system incorrect purge flow. Using bii-directional testing with the scan tool, activated the purge valve. No response from valve. due to location of purge valve to perform final test of valve, the Powertrain Control Module needs to be removed to access the purge valve to remove to bench test valve. Recommend purge valve and replace if fails bench test.
    • Performed bench test on purge valve. Valve failed testing. Installed new factory purge valve onto vehicle. Cleared codes. Performed in bay service test. Service test passed at this time. Test drove vehicle. No problems at this time.

    • CLEAN FRONT OF ENGINE TO LOCATE OIL LEAK. AFTER CLEANING FRONT OF ENGINE, FOUND FREEZE PLUG IN FRONT OF BLOCK CAUSING OIL LEAK. SEE LINE BELOW FOR REPAIRS.
    • REMOVE AND RE-INSTALL(R&I) ENGINE BELT, FOUND SATURATED IN OIL, ALSO DAMAGED WATER PUMP PULLEY FROM OIL CONTAMINATION, R&I FRONT CRANKSHAFT PULLEY, AND BELT TENSIONER TO ACCESS AND REPLACE FRONT CRANKSHAFT SEAL AND FREEZE PLUG ON BLOCK. DURING REMOVAL OF SEAL AND FREEZE PLUG, FOUND PIECES OF TIMING CHAIN GUIDE RAILS WEDGED BETWEEN FRONT CRANK SEAL. DETERMINED DETERIORATING TIMING CHAIN GUIDE RAILS CAUSING OIL LEAKS. SEE LINE BELOW FOR CONTINUED REPAIRS.
    • REPLACED VALVE COVER GASKET DUE TO INCORRECT VACUUM IN ENGINE CRANKCASE, SPEC SHOULD BE AT 36 mb, FOUND AT 18, POSSIBLE DUE TO CLOGGED/RESTRICTED PCV SYSTEM IN VALVE COVER, ALSO FRONT OIL CRANK SEAL LEAKING. REPLACED ENGINE OIL VALVE COVER. TRANSFER CAMSHAFT SENSORS AS NEEDED.
    • DURING FRONT CRANK SEAL REPLACEMENT, FOUND TIMING CHAIN GUIDE RAIL PIECES IN CRANKCASE. REMOVE ITEMS FROM FRONT OF ENGINE AS NEEDED TO ACCESS AND REPLACE TIMING CHAIN AND GUIDE RAIL ASSEMBLIES. ALSO REPLACE VANOS ADJUSTERS FOR BOTH INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFTS. INSTALL NEW TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER AND GUIDE PIN SCREWS. RESEAL FRONT CRANKSHAFT AS NEEDED. DUE TO BROKEN GUIDE RAILS PIECES IN CRANKCASE, REMOVE ENGINE OIL PAN(AS GOODWILL GESTURE) TO INSPECT, FOUND MULTIPLE TIMING CHAIN GUIDE RAIL PIECES IN OIL PUMP PICK UP SCREEN. REMOVE AND CLEAN SCREEN. RESEAL OIL PAN AS NEEDED. AFTER REPAIRS, CLEAN TOP AND BOTTOM OF ENGINE, RESET AND RE-LEARN ENGINE ADAPTATION VALUES. ROAD TEST AFTER REPAIRS, FOUND NOW ENGINE OPERATING AS DESIGNED. RETURN VEHICLE TO CUSTOMER. NOTE: TEST CRANKCASE PRESSURE AFTER ALL REPAIRS, FOUND AT 39 mb(OK).

UPON INSPECTION OF LOCATION OF OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, FOUND ENGINE VALLEY FULL OF ENGINE OIL, INDICATING A LEAKING ENGINE OIL COOLER. RECOMMEND TO REPLACE COMPLETE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY(FACTORY) WITH A NEW OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, CLEANING OIL OFF ENGINE VALLEY, AND RE-EVALUATING FAULT CODE. FOR BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT 1, CHECKED ACTUAL VALUES, FOUND SWITCH WORKING CORRECTLY AT THIS TIME AND FAULT AS HISTORY. SINCE PROBLEM INTERMITTENT SHOP OWNER RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE STOP LAMP SWITCH TO A FACTORY SWITCH(RECENTLY REPLACED WITH AFTERMARKET SWITCH) TO START FIRST. FURTHER DIAGNOSIS MAYBE REQUIRED FOR POSSIBLE CORRODED OR LOOSE CONTACTS IN MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
    • DISCONNECT AND CONNECT(D&C) BATTERY GROUND CABLE, DRAIN AND FILL ENGINE COOLANT FOR REPAIRS, REMOVED AND RE-INSTALL(R&I) INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY-UPPER AND LOWER SECTION, REPLACED ENGINE OIL COOLER AND HEATER HOSE TO COOLER. WASH ENGINE VALLEY AFTER REPAIRS. AFTER OIL CHANGE, ERASED CODES AND ROAD TEST VEHICLE, FOUND ENGINE OPERATING AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME.
    • (Combination) – ENGINE OIL COOLER HOSE – Remove & Replace V6
    • WASH COMPLETE ENGINE TOP AND ENGINE VALLEY AREA AS BEST POSSIBLE TO REMOVE EXCESS OIL AND COOLANT FROM ENGINE VALLEY.
