Confirmed customer concern. Removed seat to inspect what parts are needed. Found motor and wiring melted. Called dealership. Never heard of this concern on these vehicles. Found motor is part of entire seat adjuster assembly. Recommend adjuster assembly For driver seat non-op: Once disconnected passenger seat. Checked main fuse for power seats. Fuse is a logic fuse. Fuse tested good. Re-installed. Went to check movement of seat. Driver seat operates properly. Passenger seat brought down the circuit. *Note- Carpet has a burn mark in it due to the melting of motor. Recommend carpet replacement.
Customer declined repairs. Customer requested to put seat back into vehicle. – Due to the severity of the melted electrical and melted motor, seat electrical plugs are disconnected due to concerns of more shorting and possibility of fire. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED. When the airbag light is illuminated, safety is implemented in programming to not engage airbags due to possibility of malfunction when an accident does not occur. The airbag system will NOT DEPLOY in case of accident since light is illuminated!!! DRIVE WITH CAUTION! Due to the electrical fire smell, it is not recommended to drive vehicle with windows up. The smell is not good for health. By signing completed Repair Order, customer understands precautions and will not hold Lael's International Auto service and its employees responsible in case of accident or fire. All precautions have been implemented and expressed to consumer. CUSTOMER DECLINED ALL REPAIRS.
